Prior to my visit to the Dyer Family Dentistry, I wouldn’t go to the dentist.  I hadn’t been to the dentist in over five years because five years ago, I became an adult and my mom stopped forcing me to go.  I have no phobias.  I can jump from an airplane, traverse the worse parts of Chicago without looking over my shoulder; to put it mildly, I’m not afraid of anything, except the dentist.  With fear comes anxiety, and I had the worst.  I’ve fainted at the dentist office.  I’ve gotten sick.  I hyperventilated.  My heart rate has scared healthcare professionals.  I uncontrollably shook.  I cried.  I had top notch anxiety attacks.  It got so bad that the thought of the dentist or the sight of an office made me slip into apprehension.  My past dentists didn’t like me either.  When I was younger, I’d kick, scream, bite, and scratch. As an adult, I’d make appointments only to cancel them.  In fact, I’m not allowed to go to two dentist offices because I’ve canceled on them so many times.

But time took its toll and my smile became noticeably deteriorated.  My mother begged me to call a dentist for almost a year.  Then finally, she found Dr. Atcha and the Dyer Family Dentistry.  I really wanted to get my teeth fixed, but every time I’ve been to the dentist, my anxiety made it near impossible to last a full visit.  The team at Dyer Family Dentistry did not only understand my anxiety, but they did absolutely everything in their power to help me get my teeth fixed.  I had to have over $16,000 dollars of work done because of my poor care of my teeth, and they were able to help me through it.  They helped me through the long day full surgeries with amazing amenities and sedation.  They treated me like a guest in their home and never let me feel scared or feel pain.  I wasn’t a file or an HMO number.  I was Elizabeth, and I never felt anything different.

I just finished my last appointment today and looking at my long journey from the first appointment to the last, they have helped me through my fear of the dentist.  I can make appointments on my own without the last minute ditch effort or without canceling them.  I can sit in the dentist chair without feeling dizzy.  I can even take a drill to a tooth without novacaine or any other form of sedation.  I don’t have my anxiety attacks anymore.  I don’t think I could have done this without them, and now I’m on my way back to building healthy teeth.  Before this, I was ready to let all my teeth fall out.  Now I have a real smile that I can thank Dr. Atcha and his team for.  Without them, I’d have holes in my teeth and impractical anxiety.  My thanks can never be enumerated in any amount of words.

Elizabeth

I would like to thank everyone that I came in contact with at my appointment yesterday. I was so terrified and in such pain when I came to you, and everyone I met at my morning appointment, from the ladies at the front desk to the male dentist Dr. Atcha, were so genuinely friendly and concerned. I am still afraid, but I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank you so very much for having such patience with this BIG chicken!

Your New Forever Patient, Jennifer

I've neglected going to the dentist out of fear. Today was my second visit and I had no fear at all. I felt everyone at Dyer Family Dentistry was there to help me and had my best interest at heart. I'm having a little cosmetic work done, too; and I could feel everyone there was excited for me and my appearance would be enhanced.

I was impressed with the technology being utilized during my examination and with the level of competence Dr. Atcha displayed during the entire process. I was very comfortable with all aspects of my experience. Thank you for the respect that you showed me as a patient.

I am a "former" reluctant patient. Now, with each visit, I am more comfortable going for dental care. This is a big step for me! I am very pleased with the care and compassion I receive from Dr. Atcha and the staff at your practice. Cannot think of any needed improvement. Thank you! P.S. Thanks again for changing that "goopy" stuff for impressions. Whew! What a relief! :o)

Thank you so much for all of the kindness all of you showed me! Also I appreciate Dr. Kapadia calling me the next day to make sure I was doing ok, I have never had a dentist do that before and it means a lot!

Everyone I have come into contact with in the practice is absolutely top-notch!

Everyone at DFD is fantastic. There is not much harder for me to accomplish then to get dental work done. Especially with the shape I was in. Three names specifically stick out. Dr. Atcha is great and extremely pleasant. I have worked hard to make the dentist the bad guy in my head. Dr. Atcha changed that all around. Alessa is the best dental hygienist I have ever seen, and at the age of 45 that has been a few. Finally, the person that really made me feel that DFD is the place for me. Karen is incredible. I don't think anyone could pretend to care that well. She really cares and she made me feel so comfortable. She, more than anyone, made me feel like I not only found a place to go to the dentist, but I made a friend.

I would just like to say thank you to Dr. Kapadia and all the staff at Dyer Family Dentistry! Everyone is beyond nice and friendly. I heard a commercial on the radio and thought "why not try a new dentist?" I needed to get a cavity filled (my first one ever). I ended up have many fillings filled. You have the best reception staff, and they give you so many options for scheduling.

Recently, I also had an accident at work. My two front teeth had been hit and needed to be replaced. I had an old crown and bad bonding on my two front teeth that was done years ago. I had a bike accident when I was 11 and my old dentist put a huge crown in, he said I would grow into it. Well I never grew into it and it had discolored. I was so self-conscious about them that I would even cover my smile with my hand. I was scared that I was not going to look the same. When I came in Alice took care of everything and I didn't have to worry about any workman's compensation problems. Thank you! Dr. Kapadia and her staff made me feel extremely comfortable. I had my teeth whitened, and they look great. Lindsy did a great job making sure I was comfortable and she even popped in a movie for me to watch. Everyone worked very hard to make my experience wonderful. I was even sent to the dental lab to get a custom color match for my new teeth. My new crown and veneer look wonderful. My co-workers joked that they need to get hurt so their teeth can look as good as mine. My mom noticed my teeth within 30 seconds of me walking in her door. It is a great feeling to smile again. I love my new, white, and cosmetic smile. Thank you again for all of your help.

Dear future patient, I am a new patient of Dyer Family Dentistry, and let me say “they are the most skilled dentist and dental assistants you will ever find”! All of my life I had been insecure about my smile because of the spacing of my teeth. I had been searching and searching for a dentist who could solve this problem without having to deal with the agony of braces, but could find no one with an alternative solution. Well, one day I came across Dyer Family Dentistry on the internet, and I soon found out they had the answer to my problem.

I had a very special event coming up in only two weeks, and even thou I knew it would probably not be enough time to change my smile I decided to call anyway. Well to my surprise, the very same day I called they got me in for a consultation, in which Dr. Atcha and Dr. Jasmine, along with their entire staff; immediately dedicated their concerns, time, and highly professional services to me. This meant so much to me as a new patient! And by the time of my event I had anew, beautiful, perfect smile, and a new found high self-esteem. It’s a miracle how a beautiful smile can change how you feel about yourself!

My overall experience with Dyer Family Dentistry was amazing. There facility is clean, welcoming, and comfortable. Also, the entire staff is congenial, well-educated, highly skilled, and enthused about what they do. But most importantly, the staff at Dyer Family Dentistry is “genuinely” concerned about the wants, needs, and concerns of, not just me, but all of their patients.

So if you’re considering Dyer Family Dentistry as your dental home, I highly recommend them! And, if you are not quite satisfied with your smile, from my own experience, I have the perfect solution: “Lumineers”. So what are you waiting for? You’re worth it!

New (excited) patient,
K.B.

My name is Sharon and I just wanted to write this in hopes it may help other patients like myself with their fear of Dentistry work. First to say I am one of the those people that have been very very scared and nervous of "Dentists" that I've actually have lost sleep the night before my appointment. Also, I have gone into panic attacks, almost passing out right in the dentist room. But I have to say now that with the patience, care and concern with the entire staff have helped me to relax a lot before and during my whole procedures. The Dr I saw was Dr. Joshi and he was kind, patient, caring and tender with me. Knowing my fears he was very supportive, talked with me before, during and after procedure that I became very relaxed and calm. I didn't even need any type of sedation or any gas to help me relax (which I usually do take at least the gas) and before I knew it my tooth was out and didn't feel any of it, I didn't even feet the shots to numb me. Dr. Joshi's bedside manner are very very good and relaxing and he made me feel so special and at ease. My experience here at Dyer Family Dentistry was the first positive time, I would suggest that If you like me to talk to staff and especially the Dr. you have so they know how to help you. The Dentist here are the best and very professional with their patients and will go out of their way to assist you. I would like to close by thanking the staff and to you Dr. Josh for your kind, gentle care etc helping for making my appoint a positive one. Keep up the good work.

Dear Dr. Atcha and Dyer Family Dentistry Associates,

Thank you very much for your generous care package. The three MASSIVE boxes of candy were well received by the Marines and should keep everyone smiling for awhile! Even those of us that are training and dieting had to have a few pieces. Can’t let it go to waste right? We have been in Iraq for about a month and things are going well. Time is passing quickly, but our thoughts are still of home. Getting mail and packages from people like you really keeps our spirits up and we appreciate it. We hope all is well with you and your family and employees. Please pass on our thanks to those involved.

Best Wishes,
Ordinance Marines

Dyer Family Dentistry,

I just want to say thank you very much for the very professional and personal manner in which you are conducting business!

From the time we walked into your office, being greeted by Lynn, and seeing the familiar face of Holly accompanied by a sweet spirit, continued on through with Amy (Beth), Deb, Alyssa and Kara, topping it off with the charisma of Dr. Atcha, our experience has been more wonderful; it’s been completely awesome!

I was further impressed with the notes of welcome in the mail and additionally, your innovative communications via e-mail! Thank you for taking time and effort into making our dental experiences pleasurable. We look forward to keeping our smiles healthy and happy!

KUDOS!

I spoke to Holly when I called the referral dentist and I could actually see her smiling through the phone for she was so enthusiastic that I called.  She gave me extensive details on financing and let me know that they offer this to everyone which made me feel that I was not alone in my quest to get a more beautiful smile.  Her excitement for what the office had to offer really came through in her voice on the phone and it made me feel good about calling their office.  I felt compelled to book my consultation appointment right then and I am happy that I did!”

Thanks!

A new patient

Dear Dr. Atcha:

Thank you for your “Cash for Candy” buy back program you made available to the community yesterday.  As a patient, I appreciate your thinking of our troops, as well as promoting good dental health.

Our church had a “Trunk or Treat” night on October 31 with all of the candy being donated by our congregation.  We served several hundred children, but still had a lot of candy left.

I dropped off 30lbs. yesterday and thank you for the $30 for our Children’s Ministry.  Your gift will be put to good use.  We still have candy available if you need more to send to the troops.

Thanks again for a “win, win” program for our troops, our community, and our church.  Be sure to let us know if you plan to offer this program again.

Sincerely,

Allen

First, I need to apologize for sending this so late. I came in on June 11th to have my teeth whitened. I was very, very nervous as my niece had the same procedure done a few weeks before me and told me it was really painful. Also, that was craze for me and I found myself rushing just to get there on time. Needless to say, I forgot to take ibuprofen and to bring my iPOD. ( I have very sensitive teeth) Well, I shouldn't have worried. Lindsey was the one who was whitening my teeth not only did she give me ibuprofen but she also let me listen to her very own iPOD. I was cold (I was wearing short) so she gave me a blanket! I have never been someplace where someone was so nice - especially a Dentist's office - she calmed my fears and I must say the entire experience was pain free! She was so nice and caring and I just wanted to say "Thank you so much" I will definitely recommend other people to get their teeth whitened by her! Also, I wanted to thank Karen for taking and sending my before and after pictures of my teeth!

Thanks again,

M. L.

Amy Beth,

Thank you so much for putting me at ease during my visit, you and the Holly who assisted you were both great!

Thanks again,

Dr. Joshi and your staff,

On April 12th, 2007. Thursday you came to my rescue as I had a filling come out and you repaired it with a crown and my last visit April 26, 2007.  My daughter-in-law found your place for me, she found a great place to go as everyone was caring and very polite.

Thank you from a 71 year old man-

Your staff is the BEST!

Yours,

B.G.

Dr. Atcha and his assistants are AWESOME!!! I finally found a dentist and dental staff that truly cares about their patients and the quality of work they perform!! I've already given your name out to family and friends. The only down side, is I wish you were a MetLife Provider so that all 7 of us could use your dental services :)

The nurses and the Doc (Dr. Atcha) were very attentive to my back molars nerves. I have an abnormal amount of nerve endings in one of my teeth and the Doc made sure that I was not going to feel any pain...Thanks! In one visit I had a crown replaced and two old fillings removed and replaced and within 1 1/2 hours. That is very important to me considering that I can't be away from my work too long. I would return to your dental practice for future treatment and I would definitely refer a friend to Dyer Family Dentistry.

Dear Dr. Atcha,

This past fall, I came to the Dyer Family Dentist with a throbbing toothache. I hadn’t been to a dentist for many years and didn’t look forward to this visit. Now I had to go, as the pain was getting worse day by day. I needed so much work done on my teeth that I was embarrassed to get started.

When I arrived for the appointment, I noticed how personable and professional everyone was. There was hardly any wait and everyone was very friendly. I was in and out of there in only about an hour. Dr. Atcha quickly took care of the toothache, and the pain was gone. They also took pictures and x-rays of my other teeth to determine what other work I needed to have done to get my mouth healthy again. It turned out that I needed to have a thorough cleaning, including scaling and whitening, 2 root canals, 2 cavities filled and three crowns put on. One root canal and crown was on a upper front tooth that was discolored. The new tooth, along with the whitening made an unbelievable difference in my smile.

I was amazed that I could go to the dentist 10 times in two months to have all this work done and not even have any pain. There was hardly even any discomfort.

It was so refreshing to find a group like yours who really care. The friendliness and professionalism at the Dyer Family Dentistry puts a person at ease and turns an appointment that I normally dread into something constructive and positive, and even makes it a pleasant experience.

Sincerely and Smiling,

Bill Clark

Dear Dyer Family Dentistry,

I could not be more grateful! After 10 years of extreme fear of dentists I had let my molars decay. All of them. My shame and fear left me feeling hopeless.

I would see the ads for your dentistry in the NW IN Times and after tow weeks of pain with an abscess I made the call. From the first phone call I’ve been ecstatic with your practice!

Peggy got me in the same day and Dr. Atcha removed two molars which brought immediate relief.

In five weeks, I’ve had eight molars removed in office. Dr. Atcha is very kind, gentle and informative and the support staff remarkable!

I have hope in saving the rest of my teeth and am excited about the partial plates that will complete my smile.

Dyer Family Dentistry filed all of my insurance papers and found 0% financing for the work beyond what my insurance would pay. I cannot thank all of you enough for what you have done for me. I will continue to tell everyone about your practice!

Thank you again,

T.J.L.

To Theresa’s boss,

I would like to compliment one of your star employees. Who am I? Just a plain Jane guy, nobody special. Theresa seemed to be very knowledgeable at her job. She was very friendly, kind and did a great job on my broken tooth.

I suggested that she needed a big pay raise, but I guess if you paid her what she was worth, you could not afford her. Again, I was honored to have her work on my broken tooth, and she did a great job.

Thank you again Theresa.

Dear Jackie,

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your advice and time you shared with me during my teeth whitening procedure. I’m sure you treat all your patients with as much care and attention as you showed me, but you sure made me feel extra special.

I’m very pleased with the results of my teeth. I appreciate all you did for me.

Take care,

A.
