NW Indiana Denstist Recieves Training in Cutting Edge Protcol to Rescue the

Dyer, Indiana (PRWEB) January 21, 2009 -- The Center for Implants, Sedation, and Cosmetic Dentistry a cutting

edge research and clinical center for dental medicine, Dr. Ivan Atcha debuted implant dentistry's newest and most

patient-friendly protocol for healthy smiles, Teeth In An Hour. Thirteen doctors from across the globe

experienced computer generated technology that permits a patient with not a single remaining tooth to have a

fully functional and esthetic third set of teeth in less than an hour.

Local Implant Dentist, Dr. Ivan Atcha, participated in this training, following the new product launch at Nobel

Biocare's World Conference in Las Vegas last year. The new surgical technology, which begins with a brief but

comprehensive scan, permits the doctor to accomplish virtual surgery on a computer model, thus creating

optimum guided surgical technique, minimally invasive for the patient.

Dr. Atcha will be the first in Northwest Indiana to be certified in the Nobel Biocare process of guided surgery.

His clinical facility is located in Dyer where he treats the dentally disastrous and the fearful patients. Dr. Atcha

changes lives daily by reconnecting people to what they have lost "their teeth" with the latest in dental implants.

Please contact Dr. Atcha at The Center for Implants, Sedation, and Cosmetic Dentistry for more information. The Center offers the finest esthetics available in the profession. The Center is also a major teaching center and source of research information about dental implants, sedation dentistry (for fearful patients) and cosmetic dentistry.

Shedding Light on Oral Cancer

Shedding Light on Oral Cancer

New Dental Technology Seeks Out Disease

Dyer, Indiana (PRWEB) January 21, 2009 -- Oral cancer will strike 30,000 Americans this year. A third of them

will die. Oral Cancer is now the sixth most commonly diagnosed form of cancer in the United States and one of

the few cancers with a survival rate that has not improved in the last 50 years. Until now, there was no effective

way to detect oral cancer in its earliest stages.

VELscope, a new technology used by Dr. Ivan Atcha at The Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic

Dentistry in Dyer, IN is allowing dentists to detect the disease early and aid in survival rates.

"It's a deadly disease," says Dr. Atcha. "Early detection with the VELscope is one way to fight it."

Oral cancer appears as small sores in the mouth, usually about an inch long. At this stage, the cancer has not

spread to the lymph nodes and is highly treatable. There's only one problem- it's not very noticeable. People might

think the sores are just a benign canker sore. When detected at this stage, patients have an 80 percent survival rate.

The cancer becomes even more dangerous when the tumor metastasizes and spreads to the lymph nodes. At this

stage, treatment is much less effective and only one in five will live.

The new VELscope technology is designed to discover oral cancer in its earliest stage. Using a narrow band of

safe, high-energy blue light and a specialized filter to allow dentists to investigate areas of oral concern, this new

advancement is revolutionizing early detection of oral cancer. Taking just two minutes, VELscope's blue light

allows for a more thorough evaluation of trouble spots than white light can reveal. This technology can also detect

abnormal growths before they become cancerous.

NEW RISKS

Risk factors in developing oral cancer include tobacco use, frequent and/or excessive alcohol consumption, a

compromised immune system and a past history or cancer. Researchers also point to the HPV virus to explain

why oral cancer rates are rising among those who don't drink or use tobacco. However, anyone can be a risk for

oral cancer as 25 percent of all newly diagnosed cases have been in patients under the age of 40 with none of the known risk factors.

Say Goodbye to Dentures

Say Good Bye to Dentures

Dr. Ivan Atcha (Advanced Dentist-Implantologist) a Fellow of International Congress of Oral

Implantologist , who practices in Dyer, IN is pleased to announce that the Center for Implants,

Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry now offers the All-On-4 immediate loading dental implants technique.

(PRWEB) February 5, 2009 -- The All-on-4 (TM) technique is a new, advanced procedure that provides patients with missing teeth, a fast and cost-effective fixed restoration. Four individual dental implants are placed in one jaw to support a full-arch prosthesis, providing edentulous patients with an affordable, comfortable, pleasing solution.

With more traditional approaches, eight to twelve implants were required to replace an entire jaw with teeth, and other procedures such as bone grafting and sinus lifts were necessary. The All-on-4 techniques eliminates the need for these more invasive and costly techniques.

Additionally, with the availability of the i-CAT Cone Beam 3-D Dental CT Scan in the office Dr. Atcha has the

capability to see detailed images of a patient's jaw, allowing them to make an accurate and predictable diagnosis with enhanced treatment planning. No more trips to a different place to get a specific x-ray or scan! From your initial consultation all the way through to post-operative care and follow-ups, you can do everything right in the comfort of Dr. Atcha's office.

i-CAT Advanced 3-D Dental Imaging System

i-CAT Advanced 3-D Dental Imaging System

Dr. Irfan (Ivan) Atcha is now using the Imaging Sciences i-CAT advanced 3-d dental imaging system to enhance patient care with the most accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Dyer, IN (PRWEB) January 28, 2009 -- The Center for Implants, Sedation, and Cosmetic Dentistry in Dyer, IN is

now offering the Imaging Sciences i-CAT 3-D imaging technology to patients. The i-CAT gives Dr. Atcha the

most complete information on the anatomy of a patient's mouth, face, and jaw areas, which leads to the most

accurate treatment and predictable outcomes for patients' surgical procedures.

Now, patients who visit the center will benefit from the most advanced 3-D dental imaging technology. Dr. Atcha

is now using the Imaging Sciences i-CAT as part of his full scope of diagnosis and treatment planning of dental

implants that the practice specializes in and that the i-CAT will be used for. "This driving the profession for better diagnostic imaging of technology in dentistry," especially in the area of Implant Dentistry mentions Dr. Atcha.

This technology has taken us to another stardard of excellence. We wish we had incorporated it in our office a

long time ago. But hindsight is 20/20. It's like you wouldn't want the surgeon to operate on your knee from a 2 dimensional x-ray, you'd want a CT 3 dimensional scan. Then what makes your mouth any different? I can

proudly say that we are the first office in Northwest Indiana that has incorporated this technology for our patient's care. For dentists using two-dimensional panoramic radiographs, are really putting them selves at risk by not

being able to see those cross-sections produced by digital 3-D scans. This diagnostic tool offers a safe guard

against dental malpractice suits.

The easy-to-use i-CAT is the leader in Cone Beam 3-D images by producing more thorough three-dimensional

views of all oral and maxillofacial structures. Patients remain seated in an "open environment scan", which

increases patient comfort and captures the natural orientation of anatomy. The data is transferred to a computer, typically within minutes, and displayed on an intuitive 3-D mapping tool that allows doctors and technicians to

easily format and select desired "slices" for immediate viewing. The i-CAT creates 3-D images at reduced cost

and with considerably less radiation than traditional (medical grade CT scans) Fan Beam Computed Tomography systems.

"It's extremely gratifying to know that Dr. Atcha is using our 3-D digital technology to benefit both their patients

and their practice," says Ed Marandola, President and CEO of Imaging Sciences. "The i-CAT provides their

practice with more accurate anatomical information than they would possibly capture with x-ray films or

traditional scans, without having to inconvience patients by sending them out to a hospital for CT scans. Now, Dr. Atcha can increase his patients' comfort by sharing their 3-D digital images to explain diagnoses, treatements, and expected outcomes, in one convenient visit. No other in-office x-ray imaging system comes close to the i-CAT."

The Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry Partners with Oral DNA Labs to Enhance Patient Care

The Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry Partners with OralDNA Labs to Enhance Patient Care

Enhance patient care through diagnostic testing for periodontal disease to check for type of

bacteria that are causing the gum and bone disease as well as to check for genetic marker to see

disposition for future disease trends in the mouth.

Dyer, IN (PRWEB) February 13, 2009 -- OralDNA Labs, Inc. (www.OralDNA.com), a Specialty Diagnostics

Company focused on bringing advanced laboratory testing to the dental community, today announced it has

reached an agreement to provide diagnostic testing for the Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry.

OralDNA will provide diagnostic laboratory testing to the Center and Dyer Family Dentistry to enable

state-of-the-art diagnosis of periodontal disease. The tests will enable better identification and, consequently,

earlier treatment of the bacterial infection that causes periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is estimated to

effect three quarters of the adult population in the United States.

"We are pleased to be at the forefront of bringing diagnostic testing to dentistry in order to treat periodontal

disease with the same importance as we do inflammatory infections in other areas of the body," said Dr. Irfan

(Ivan) Atcha, president and CEO of the Center for Implants and Dyer Family Dentistry. "As we continue to

understand and identify the systemic link between oral health and full body health, we feel that providing our

patients and clinicians a tool for identifying the cause and severity of their periodontal infection is critical. This

technology combined with comprehensive clinical care will enhance our ability to have the most successful

treatment outcomes and help their overall health."

"This is an important step that will ultimately help patients manage a disease so they can save their teeth and improve their overall health. It is exciting to have the opportunity to deploy in dentistry the laboratory testing

already so frequently used by physicians, and to have partners who already use advancing technologies in their

practices," says Dr. Atcha. We are the Center for Oral Medicine that practices 21st century Dentistry in a caring

and a compassionate environment.

OralDNA Labs, Inc. is a specialty diagnostic company created to advance clinical testing in the dental

community. Our goal is to help the dental profession achieve better clinical outcomes by providing reliable,

definitive and cost effective clinical tests that drive the detection and prognosis of disease at an earlier, more

treatable stage, with an initial focus on periodontal disease.

Periodontal disease is a bacterial infection that causes an inflammatory response. Periodontal disease is present in

an estimated three quarters of the adult population in the United States, with 30-35% of this population having a genetic trait which Predispose these individuals to more serious forms of the disease. If patients are not properly

diagnosed and treated at early stages, periodontal disease can lead to bone loss, tooth loss and implant failure.

Research now suggests an increased risk to a number of systemic diseases when chronic periodontal infections are left untreated. Says Dr. Atcha, "Our Doctors and Hygenists are passionate about elevating the care we provide to our patients to the next level!"

Indiana Dentist Rescues the Dentally Fearful Patients with Sedation Dentistry at the Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry

Indiana Dentist Rescues the Dentally Fearful Patients with Sedation Dentistry at the Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry

Going to the Dentist doesn't have to be a fearful or a bad experience. Millions of people avoid going to the Dentist due to fear and anxiety. Rest assure there is a solution. Dr. Irfan (Ivan)

Atcha's Sedation Dentistry Method at the Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry can help as it has help the fearful regain their confidence about going to the Dentist and are smiling again!

Dyer, IN (PRWEB) February 16, 2009 -- Advances in Sedation Dentistry allow many procedures to be done by an advanced trained Sedation Dentist like Dr. Irfan(Ivan)Atcha at the Center of Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry www.BestIndianaDentist.com without the need for referrals to specialists. This means Dr. Atcha can

provide his patients with complete treatment plans and see to your care from start to finish. Even root canals,

crowns, implants, and periodontal (gum) work can be done by a advanced trained Sedation Dentst like Dr. Atcha who has received the proper training in various Sedation methods such as Oral, IV and General anesthesia.

Sedation dentistry not only creates a relaxing and anxiety-free experience for the public, it also allows Dr. Atcha to accomplish more dentistry in a single visit - meaning his patients have to return fewer times to complete their

treatment and regain their oral health back.

Whether our patients require a single filling or are looking to have their entire smile restored, sedation dentistry can help patients achieve optimum dental health in the most comfortable way possible.

However there are cold hard facts patients must know about Sedation Dentistry and Sedation Dentists says Dr.

Atcha:

What is Sedation Dentistry? It has become very popular for dental practices to market the terms sedation and

sleep dentistry. Sedation or sleep dentistry have different meanings to dentists and patients.

Most patients do not know that there are different levels of training that dentists are legally required to obtain in

order to provide basic to advanced levels of sedation and anesthesia. Dentists can provide oral sedation (pills),

conscious sedation (intravenous medications), or general anesthesia (true sleep) provided they are properly trained and licensed.

Only a few select dentists like Dr. Atcha in this country are advanced trained and licensed to provide complete

anesthesia. "Our patients will not respond or recall even the most noxious procedures". "There are different types

of sedation methods that pateints should be aware of," says Atcha as there is so much hype about dentist jumping on the Sedation Dentistry band wagon and advertise themselves as sedation dentists.

Most dentists that only provide oral sedation, advertise sedation with just a single pill. These oral medications are only effective in individuals that are mildly anxious. Very anxious or phobic patients never achieve their desired

level of comfort. Oral sedation can actually make an anxious patient more uncooperative. "Contrary to advertised claims, patients are not asleep with oral sedation", Says Atcha " For a patient to be asleep with oral sedation, they must be overdosed! This places them at risk, especially since only minimal patient monitoring is present or

utilized in offices that advertise oral sedation." A dentist need only attend a weekend course to be able to provide

oral sedation in their practice.

Indiana Dentist Changes the Quality of His Patient's life Through the Miracle of Dental Implants

Dental Implant are the best thing that happend to the profession of Dentistry. It reconnects people to something that they have lost. Dr. Irfan (Ivan) Atcha helps his patients in his Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry in Dyer, IN with the miracle of Dental Implants.

Dyer IN (PRWEB) February 16, 2009 -- The Center for Implants, Cosmetic and Sedation Dentistry in Dyer, IN

was founded upon the principal that no one should have to live without teeth. Dr. Irfan (Ivan) Atcha DDS recognized that Indiana, which ranks no. 11 in states having people with the most missing teeth, is home to many residents who have very high fear of dentists, and what Atcha calls "dentally disastrous" because of the severity of their condition. "These are people who have been away from a dental practice for 10 or more years because of their advanced gum and bone disease or dental decay, because they have established a fear of dentists early in life, or because they have been told there is no help," says Atcha.

One of those patients, MaryAnn of Gary,Indiana, says her condition was traumatizing before she sought the help of Dr. Atcha and his team at the Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry. "Before it was such a wreck--broken, painful, infected. I was in pain, agony and it was constant because of the infections. For the past year, I wasn't motivated. I was just surviving day-to-day because of the pain," says MaryAnn who then, after being told by another dentist that she would have to have dentures for the rest of her life, sought the help of Dr.

Atcha at the Center for Implants, Sedation and Cosmetic Dentistry. "It's astonishing to see people's reaction, and

mine too. I'm talking more, smiling more, I'm no longer afraid to crack jokes. I feel complete. It's unbelievable.

They're perfect. I won't wake up anymore in pain. I can sleep, eat all my favorte foods and I'm not self conscious

to go out in public and socialize. It's absolutely life changing, I feel totally complete," says MaryAnn.

MaryAnn benefit from 5 dental implants in her upper jaw after removal of all her decayed and diseased teeth.

The implants were placed the same day the teeth were removed and within few weeks not months or years

MaryAnn had her fixed upper implant teeth that she would never have to remove again! All of her care was done under IV sedation by Dr. Atcha for her comfort. "I recall no memory of my surgery" I just remember them

waking me up telling me that my bad teeth are out and my implants are in and I did great", says MaryAnn.

Dr. Atcha recognizes the importance of ending the physical and emotional suffering, restoring quality of life.

"We've helped change people's lives. Patients are much healthier because it's important to have teeth, for chewing, smiling, and self confidence". "We want people

to know they no longer have to suffer with dentures, partials, or missing teeth," says Atcha who also brings the best advancements in sedation to his clients for their comfort. "We administer everything from light nitrous oxide to advanced I.V. sedation and general anesthesia depending on the patient's request and anxiety level" he says.

The overall cost of delaying dental care, or no treatment at all, is much more expensive because you are always

losing bone if you have missing teeth and wear dentures and the bone never comes back. "Dental Implants holds

the jaw bone jaw bone from shrinking", says Dr. Atcha

Although patients get concerned about cost of the care with Dental Implants , Dr. Atcha believes the "cost should never come in the way of your health, especially because the mouth is the pathway to other health problems," says Atcha.

Dr. Irfan (Ivan) Atcha Invited to Become a Board of Director of the American Dental Implant Association

Dr. Irfan (Ivan) Atcha's practice is limited to Dental Implants and Advanced Sedation Dentistry practice in Dyer, IN. In April, he was invited by Dr. Arun Garg to become a Board of Director of American Dental Implant Association (ADIA). The goal of the American Dental Implant Association is to encourage collaboration and communication among the top dental professionals placing and restoring dental implants Dyer, IN (PRWEB) May 27, 2009 -- Dr. Atcha has been placing and restoring dental implants for over 5 years and has been requested to become a Board of Director of the prestigious American Dental Implant Association.

American Dental Implant Association (ADIA) was founded by Dr. Arun K. Garg, founder of Implant Seminars, the world's largest provider of dental implant continuing advanced education. Dr. Garg created the American Dental Implant Association in response to overwhelming requests for more credentialing and credibility by establishing recognition models.

The American Dental Implant Association aggressively promotes collegiality, friendship, and practice growth.

"This is the top forum for an exchange of a vast amount of niche information through annual symposiums of

like-minded individuals to receive the latest information in the dental implant field, in a familiar, supportive

community. Our main goal is to better serve our affiliate of well-trained clinicians, like Dr. Irfan Atcha," said Dr.

Garg. There was an annual symposium from April 23 through April 25 this year at The Miami Implant Update.

The American Dental Implant Association's Executive Director Fiorella Samaniego said "Each clinician may

obtain the fellowship, mastership and diplomat status provided they meet the requirements for continuing

education (CE) hours and pass a written examination". Scheduling for exams is vital, so awards can be given in a timely manner at the ceremonies, the first one being held at the annual symposium in April 24, 2009 in Miami,

FL. "Dr. Atcha has exhibited excellent patient care in the cases that have been submitted for approval by the

Board of the ADIA to become a Diplomat of the ADIA. His dental implant techniques, bone grafting, and soft

tissue management have shown us that he is the type of clinician that the ADIA wants in its fold." Dr. Atcha is

also a Diplomat of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI).

The American Dental Implant Association will also become an embedded feature of the scholarly publishing

landscape. Members receive an academic journal on dental implantology and those who demonstrate a genuine interest in establishing credibility through journal publishing and wish to contribute to the upcoming American Dental Implant Association publication are also welcome. Dr. Irfan Atcha will be contributing to the ADIA Journal regularly, and presenting many of the dental implant cases that he has completed.

"Credentialing and credibility go hand-in-hand," said Dr. Garg. "We will offer our members myriad of ways to

advance themselves and their careers. Dr. Irfan Atcha has exhibited the kind of dentistry that qualifies admission into the American Dental Implant Association." The ADIA has its next meeting scheduled next week at the Miami Implant Update which runs from April 23-25, 2010. Dr. Atcha was invited to participate and present his most challenging implant cases on Friday, April 24, 2009.

Dr. Atcha was honored to be invited stating, "It is a privilege to have earned the respect of the finest dental

Indiana Implant Dentist Receives training in Cutting Edge Protocol to Rescue the Denture Sufferers

Indiana Implant Dentist Receives training in Cutting Edge Protocol to Rescue the Denture Sufferers

Dr. Irfan (Ivan) Atcha and 15 other Advanced Dental Clinicians from all across the U.S. were selected to get trained on Zygomatic Implants Surgical and Prosthetic protocol in Montreal Canada. This specialized surgery will allow patients who previously were not able to wear implant supported teeth on the upper jaw, due to lack of supportive bone, to do so without multiple and expensive bone enhancing surgeries, which sometimes included grafting bone from the patients hip. The nature of this revolutionary procedure also improves healing and reduces post surgical discomfort.

Dyer, IN (PRWEB) June 29, 2009 -- Dr. Irfan (Ivan) Atcha and 15 other selected dental clinicians across the U.S. were invited by Nobel Biocare (world's largest Dental Implant manfacturer), Dr. Yvan Fortin DDS and Dr. Richard Sullivan(Clincal Director of Nobel Biocare North America) DDS to get trained on Zygomatic Implants (No Bone Solution) for patients with little to no bone left on the upper jaw at the Centre D'Implantologie Dentaire in Quebec, Montreal.

Treatment of the fully edentulous (all teeth missing) upper jaw with moderate to severe bone loss with a fixed

implant supported teeth is a challenge. One alternative long available has been the utilization of bone transplant

(bone grafting) often from patients hip, chin, jaw, and the skull. This required second surgical site, long healing

time, and more costs associated to the patient.

"By offering our patients with the implant alternatives to bone grafting with the Zygomatic Implants for the

completely edentulous (missing all teeth) upper jaw we are able to fabricate either a fixed or removable implant

supported prosthesis (teeth)," says Dr. Atcha. Long zygomatic implants in each side of the upper jaw along with 2-4 conventional implants patients can get their teeth for chewing and social purpose sooner than later as

extensive bone grafting is not required and thus it is more cost effective to the our patients as well says Atcha.

"It is a pleasure to have clinicans like Dr. Atcha to get trained on advanced procedures like this as it will only

benefit the patients he will treat in his office by restoring their chewing and biting and overall oral health,"

mentions Dr. Richard Sullivan (Clincal Director of Nobel Biocare North America). Dr. Atcha has already helped

many other patients for years in his practice that are denture sufferes or have ailing dentition with graftless and immediate loading solution procedures like the All-on-4 with the Teeth-In-One-Day concept and also with Teeth-In-An-Hour procedure as well.

"The Zygomatic Implant technique will allow me to help the patients with advanced bone loss that have been

wearing ill fitting dentures for years and have been told by thier dentist that they have no solutions as the only

solution for them is to wear a lousy upper denture," says Dr. Atcha. "I am very passionate about helping patients

that want a new lease on life with having teeth to chew and enjoy thier favourite foods again. We are the only

office of its kind in the region that is providing this cutting edge procedure to the denture sufferers," says Atcha.
